The number one goal for any business is New Leads (Twitter) and Retaining Leads (Facebook) but there's another factor that empowers any venture, large or small - connections.
That's where LinkedIn.com comes in. A large, buzzing hub of professionals, all posting about their daily business/professional life, coming across new and old business connections, gaining recommendations, and potentially, powering up their little black book.
LinkedIn has a fantastic array of tools that help you tell the business world who you are, with ample plugins, room to boast about your achievements, and a sure-fire way to know that those in your industry are noticing you.
Taking the LinkedIn experience to new heights is their connections system. Your immediate business associates/affiliates/contract are your 1st degree of connections. A 'suggestions' panel, which finds connections that are in subsequent degrees lets you know who actually knows them that you know, and thus forms a credible link to that person.
It's always surprising to see just how close you are to that Principal or Director you've always want to hook up with, or just how many potential business contacts you could actually form with this valuable tool.
The best thing about LinkedIn (and the reason it stays so credible in the business world), is the fact that you must ACTUALLY know the person you're making a connection to, and that person must reciprocate their knowledge of you, before a connection is made. This keeps LinkedIn (mostly) spam free, and you can spend more time forming valuable relationships, rather than blocking some schmuck.
As a bonus, you can use your LinkedIn profile as a type of eBusiness card, with blog feeds, Twitter feeds, Recommendations and experience for all to see. Crucial in this digital referral age of ours.
With LinkedIn, its definitely a matter of 'it's not what you know, it's who you know'.

Facebook: Your key to return customers.
Well my last blog went into the core commercial functionalities of Twitter, and how it could potentially drive qualified new leads to your business. Naturally, after drawing new customers in, you want to retain them.
Facebook.com is your answer. The brainchild of US Social Media icon Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook is home to 400+ million profiles. Everyone from school kids, to celebrities, to babies, dogs, brands and theoretical beings have a Facebook presence.
Facebook allows you to stay in touch with everyone that you know, and everyone that you know's friends - meaning your contact database grows exponentially the more people you add.
Beside the fact that you're reading about everyone's little complaints and irrelevant ramblings, Facebook has a unique commercial aspect.
Once activating your personal Facebook account, you have to option of creating a Facebook Page for something you may be affiliated with (whether it be a company, a brand, or even yourself as an identity).
Through this format, which acts like a powered-up real-time subscription email, 'fans', or people that find you/your page interesting can stay up to date with your news, and comment in return. This provides a hugely effective lead retention tool, due to the fact that you are in direct communication with your consumers, and can alert them to news, videos, images, links, competitions and other crucial information, that a mass email alone cannot accomplish.
As with anything, a Facebook campaign requires dedication and commitment, and not all solutions are right for each individual. To find out what's best in the Facebook world for you, let us know at www.strongmandigital.com.au.

Twitter: Lead Generation at it's very best.
For this post, I'll dive into the world of Twitter.com.
Twitter is is incredible tool, halfway between a full-blown blog and an SMS. Often referred to as micro-blogging, Twitter allows you to tell the world what's on your mind, or share your content virally, with a short burst of information.
As I write this, Twitter, in its fourth year of operation, is home to over 80+ million users, from celebrities, brands, to your modern-day punters. It is estimated that there are over 1 million Tweets blurted out daily.
Twitter allows you to 'follow' who you think is interesting, and in return, allows you to be followed back. It allows you to search the global Tweets for anyone who is talking about a topic you might be interested in, and for those who like it random, you can view what is being said right now by its userbase.
A vast array of applications have tapped into Twitter, making use of its open API (the bit of code they released to the public for any developer to plug into). This makes the Twitter experience that much more powerful, and allows you to constantly inform the world of your actions, doings, and content.
Commercially, Twitter is a brilliant Lead Generation tool. By consistently staying on topic to what your business is all about, you're increasing your chances in letting relevant qualified leads find you, your blog, and eventually, your site.
In essence, you become an 'expert' in the field, by offering tangible advice, and responding and commenting to those that are discussing your topic openly.
By maintaining a constant stream of Tweets over the span of 24 hours, you're in fact opening the gates to all timezones.
The very viral aspect of Twitter, becomes a dramatic traffic source for your content online, by what seems a 'flood' effect. The minute you tell the world about something you have, followed by a link, you could experience anywhere from 5 to 500 clicks to that link instantly. Such is the power of the Twitterverse.
Twitter can be manipulated to serve any public function with your company face providing it: Advice, Customer Service, Consumer Feedback, Open Forums, Marketing Platforms... the list goes on.
If you wish to discuss how Twitter can be Good as Gold to your brand/company/identity, speak to the team at strongmandigital.com.au

I call first post!
Well, here it is, the first post. Rather than it being all about ‘the first post’, I’ll go against the grain here and actually offer up some decent content regarding a number of the things I’ll be discussing in further posts.
Through www.strongmandigital.com.au, we offer a number of amazing services that help brands/identities/companies achieve more marketing bang for their dollar.
Here’s some of the things we do, and why these processes are so powerful.
Social Media: We’ve heard it from everyone, it’s pretty much EVERYTHING marketing and EVERYTHING web right now. Social Media goes beyond a Twitter or Facebook account. Social Media is a plethora of online tools, designed to help you get your message out there. Social Media creates overnight millionaires our of simple ideas due to the ease of viral connectivity. Social Media creates more profitable online businesses due to the power of blurting a message to everyone.
Social Media includes, more prominently, the following services (there are much more than these, but the ones listed here are the most widely used):
Twitter: Microblogging, allows direct/indirect communication with the world
Facebook: A great way to stay in touch with friends, and to keep tabs on your favourite companies
LinkedIn: Helps you stay on top of your business connections
MySpace: Great for entertainment identities
Blogger/Wordpress/Tumblr/Posterous: Great Blogging platforms
Flickr/Picasa/Photobucket: Image sharing platforms
Delicious/Digg/StumbleUpon/Reddit: Viral bookmarking websites
YouTube/Hulu: Video sharing websites
iTunes: Podcast/Audio sharing website
Yes, Social Media is an extremely powerful marketing tool, and part of the Strongman process is about educating a prospective client about the excessive amount of marketing grunt that’s there for the taking.
Search Engine Optimisation: What was once about marketing for Google, is now quickly evolving. Search Engine Optimisation (or SEO), still has its place in online marketing, however as the humans wage digital war with the machine (ie, Search Engines), we see the power shift towards, the Human, ie, the Social. Google, as well as Bing and Yahoo, have taken note of this and are slowly rolling out more Social features on their front pages. These include Twitter/Facebook feeds, Blog feeds, YouTube feeds, News Feeds, and Image feeds. As time progresses, we will see the highest ranked sites change from Search Engine Relevant, to Social Media Relevant, and that is why it is crucial to introduce a Social Media strategy early on.
Internet Capitalisation: A service developed exclusively by Strongman Digital Media, which analyses the requirements of a marketing project and puts together a just-perfect mix of Social Media Commercialisation and Search Engine Optimisation.
My subsequent blogs will run through in more detail what is required of an Internet Capitalisation campaign, and examine various industries, and what I would do if I was interested in marketing a brand/identity/company for that industry.
Until next time,
Tomer Garzberg.
