"The Spending Challenge" project aims to kickstart public spending like never before.
The British Government and Facebook are in partnership to tackle what is described at the "largest public engagement project" ever launched.
Facebook's 26 million British citizens will be targeted to provide feedback and ideas about policies associated with the public spending budget.
Democracy UK Facebook Page will link users to official government websites where they plan to utilise public engagement with submissions and opinions. It is the next level after an initial 'test run', where over 1 million people participated in election day polls via the Democracy UK Facebook Page.
The first phase has already rolled out, with over 60,000 ideas submitted in just two weeks.
Below is the recording of a web conference between Prime Minister David Cameron and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
