Gmail Motion April Fools Prank, Now A Reality

For some people, it just wasn't acceptable that Gmail announced a motion-sensitive way of gesturing with Gmail a few days ago.

The April Fools prank suggested gestures that you could use to interact with Gmail and send emails with a flick of the hands, using a regular webcam.

In the US, the guys at the Institute of Creative Technologies were seemingly upset by Google's little hoax, so they decided to do something about it.

They hooked up the Microsoft Kinect motion controller to their laptop, and programmed an application titled SLOOW, which stands for Software Library Optimising Obligatory Waving.

They also created an application called FAAST, which means Flexible Action and Articulated Skeleton Toolkit to control World of Warcraft.
