They're the foundation behind a business' success. They predict the future through numbers... but how high of a reputation do they have?
For one, when you want an accountant, you don't really Google it. You go by word of mouth - by someone else's good experiences with that accountant/bookkeeper.
So if this is the case, an advertiser/bookkeeper doesn't really need to advertise, they just need to establish their reputation with some key clients, in order to enhance their own client base.
What if this referral/word-of-mouth process could be accelerated? It's true, by turning to the Referred Web, ie Social Media, anyone can achieve a higher reputation status, much faster than if they did it offline.
Here's some tools to get you started:
Website: Make this one look good, and relevant to your industry. Better yet, simply your market leadership here with some testimonials and some tangible content pieces
Blog/Vlog of hints and tips: Use a Blog platform out there, or Video yourself for YouTube giving out simple tips and advice. It's one of the most powerful tools out there.
Twitter: Again, this is a magnificent tool to tell the world about anything and everything to do with you, your website, and your current activities
Facebook: Although retaining existing clients comes down to your workmanship, Facebook still has some commercial value in keeping them informed
Flickr: Got screenshots/scans that are useful for getting your point across? Host them here.
Forums: There's people in all sorts of positions posting their accounting/bookkeeping questions out there... Why not help them out?
By utilising the valuable online resources out there, you and your business could easily enjoy a comfortable and constant referral/reputation boost.
Remember, it's not all about pushing the brand, or the man/woman behind the brand, it's about pushing your dominance/know-how/expertise in the industry.
You have to give something to the world, before the world comes back to you. So if you're out there, speaking to everyone concerned in the real world and can get results, imagine the possibilities with going viral online?
Separate yourself from the competition, your new market awaits you online.
