The lifeblood of any business is new customers. Without new customers a business is well... not a business.
It also happens to be fact, that generating new customers is one of the hardest things to do, traditionally. Yes, traditionally, but not Socially.
You see, the power of the connected web (the Social web, the referred web) means you don't have to look far for your new customers.
Gone were the days where you had to trawl through countless forums or groups to mind-numbingly try and generate some type of buzz around your business. These days, all you need is Twitter.
Why is Twitter so special?
Twitter is a goldmine of human activity. Its very existence is a testament to humans winning over the machines (ie, Google).
In Twitter, it's not who you know, it's not even what you know... Twitter is about you, just as much as it is about them. With Twitter, you say something, and you're heard - immediately. Anyone in the world viewing the Global Timeline in that instant sees your Tweet, and immediately gains the opportunity to either follow you, send you a message, or reply/retweet your Post.
This type of lead generation cuts through the mundane task of searching for new customers. All you have to do is be yourself, and the right ones come along (kind of like dating).
Twitter allows you to follow those who you deem worthy and insightful, and in turn, allows reciprocal follows and (what may seem random), interest follows of your account.
Moreso, Twitterers can even place you into a "group", if they determine your Tweets to be important enough to them.
Lastly, Twitter Trending means anyone, at any time, can get their answers through Twitter by searching for keywords. Tweet about your business enough using relevant keywords, and you get found more often.
It's that simple - harness Twitter, harness customers.
