Secret Tip #3: Facebook for Recurring Customers?

Back when I was talking about Twitter the Lead Generator (http://ping.fm/1YOq3), I said that Lead Generation is the single-most important factor for any business to be successful.

That was no lie, however, there is another factor that helps keep a business' cog spinning, and that is Returning Business. Returning Business, or Recurring Customers, involves satisfied customers purchasing off you again and again.

Usually, if you're in an online commodity-type business, you can't rely on your quality or customer service to keep business returning online, because quality of goods is determined by the manufacturer, and customer service is close to non-existent online (little human interaction).

What is important in online customer retention is keeping them informed and interested. Traditionally, this was satisfied through an email subscription list, where you would keep your whole database informed through a mass email. This worked in the early days, however in the world of mass-communication and spam-catchers, your emails are easily overlooked or instantly deleted.

That's where Facebook comes in. Once registered, you can set up a Page for your business. This will allow everyone that has come across your business to Like the page, and therefore, everything you end up posting to that page becomes an instant update, of which is seen immediately by your Like's (kinf of like Facebook Friends).

Keep this page current and updated daily, and you will eventually entrench yourself into your satisfied customer's minds, so that next time they need to purchase whatever it is that you offer, they'll immediately think of you.
