An ROI bigger than Google Adwords? Who would've thought.
Now, you may have considered Google Adwords once or twice due to sheer click-through rates, and the Facebook Ad system means your ads are popping up in front of millions of relevant consumers, but Twitter's new advertising concept will knock your socks off.
The "Promoted Tweets" system, is Twitter's solution to it's long-running question of how it would make money. Promoted Tweets means that, on a pay-per-Tweet system, anything your company Tweets, becomes a highlighted feature, and shows up in Twitter streams, Trend searches and third-party applications.
If you're unfamiliar with Twitter, it is a community of "Twitterers", or posters updating their 140-character status which in short, is seen by everyone in the world immediately as it is posted. Twitter claims over 100+ million users, and is the most promoted Social Media stream on Google first-page results.
The sheer power of Twitter means everyone has a chance to see your "Tweet", and now with Promoted Tweets, you're making sure that chance is greater than ever.
Promoted Tweets is in beta-testing mode, but once activated, will increase the exposure of the thousands of companies utilising the micro-blogging site.
Unlike traditional forms of online advertising, like a banner or a text link for example, Promoted Tweets will be an extension of what you do on Twitter, and will rise or fall in exposure based on the response they get from users.
This system is being referred to as “resonance,” where ads will be judged based on how users engage with them, through actions like replies, retweets and clicks. If an ad doesn’t get enough engagement, it will be removed from the system.
