How This Twitterer Broke News Of Osama's Death - By Accident

FULL ARTICLE HERE: http://ping.fm/DoXeR

Meet Sohaib. Around nine hours ago, he was just just trying to get some sleep in his neighbourhood of Abbottabad, Pakistan, but all he could hear was a helicopter hovering outside.

"Helicopter hovering above Abbottabad at 1AM (is a rare event)."

What came next was a "huge window shaking bang" and for the next few hours, he, and other local Twitterers and local news speculated that it was either a UFO, a noisy spy craft or the Taliban:

"Since taliban (probably) don't have helicpoters, and since they're saying it was not "ours", so must be a complicated situation"

What Mr Athar didn't know, that only a few blocks outside his home, Osama bin Laden had just been assassinated.

A quiet IT employee, his Twitter following and media requests have skyrocketed some nine hours after the revelation.

Only time will tell what this means to this accidental reporter, who broke the big news in real-time, but just didn't know it.

Here's all of the collected Tweets from his account @reallyvirtual so far:
