"We had high hopes that this would happen eventually, but we never imagined it would happen this quickly" - Jeff Bezos, Amazon Founder and CEO.
It has only been around four years since Kindle electronic books were brought to market - and already Amazon.com is selling more of them than the paper option.
Amazon, which has been credited to the demise of the retail book industry itself (Borders bankrupt, Barnes and Noble severe losses - the list goes on) has now marked that beginning of the end for hard books.
Since April 1, for every 100 books Amazon sells, it has sold 105 Kindle books.
