The Germans are fantastic at engineering. They've brought us some of the most innovative developments of our modern time.
It's only natural then, that they engineer a 'Social Checkin' to achieve a masterful marketing campaign - and for dog food.
Using Foursquare and a billboard, pet food company GranataPet allowed a 'master' to check in to their billboard, and then deliver an instant taste test for the 'dog'.
The billboard was placed on a popular dog-walking route, and was controlled by a distant server that sent an activation signal to the black box behind the billboard.
What this proves is that every Social tool, no matter how 'useless' it may seem, will soon play a dominant part in marketing and brand awareness.
Here's the video showing it in action: http://ping.fm/7pwQ7
